Moussa Dembele: The true No.9 who is Atletico Madrid bound

Atletico Madrid have found their replacement for Diego Costa. Los Rojiblancos are set to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy in the summer.

The French international has experienced a journeyed playing career to date, taking in England, Scotland and France before making his way to Spain.

Having spent time in the Paris Saint-Germain academy, Dembele made his professional debut for Fulham at the age of 17, playing against West Ham United in the Premier League in 2013.

“He’s a little bit like a young Romelu Lukaku when he first went to Chelsea,” former Fulhamcoach Kit Symons told the Daily Record.

During the 2015/16 season, the 24-year-old scored 15 goals in the Championship, attracting the interest of Celtic north of the border.

In Scotland, Dembele became the first Celticplayer to score a hat-trick in the Old Firm derby against Rangers since Garry Good in the 1973/74 season. Read More
