
Joan Laporta has come out fighting after Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo openly stated that the French club are interested in signing Lionel Messi when his contract expires on June 30.
The Barcelona presidential candidate has been clear that he wants Messi to renew at the Camp Nou, despite the Blaugrana having a short-term debt of 730 million euros and a total debt of 1.173 billion euros.
“The club has to be able to make a good proposal to Messi so that he understands and accepts it,” Laporta said in front of the media.
