Wimbledon: Andy Murray doesn’t plan to retire ‘right now’ but admits Stefanos Tsitsipas defeat will take a while to get over

Greek fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas showed great resilience as he came back from a one-set deficit to secure a hard-fought victory against Andy Murray on Centre Court. Tsitsipas won the match with a final score of 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (2-7), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. Despite the loss, Andy Murray, the 36-year-old former British No 1, expressed his determination to continue playing and stated, “I don’t plan to stop right now.”

Andy Murray said that he does not have any plans to retire “right now”. He suffered a second-round defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas at Wimbledon on Friday. Murray was leading by two sets to one when play was suspended due to the tournament’s 11pm curfew on Thursday evening. Tsitsipas, who was seeded fifth, eventually made a comeback and won in five sets – 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (2-7), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.

Murray, who was defeated on the 10th anniversary of his career-defining first Wimbledon title, admitted that his latest exit from the All England Club will “take a while to get over”.
