Jose Mourinho has disclosed his reasons for embracing his recent touchline suspension at Roma. The Portuguese manager is getting ready to serve another ban and has shared why he will find enjoyment in this situation.
- Portuguese football will not be present at the start of the 2023-24 season due to various disciplinary actions. The team will face a 10-day ban in Serie A and a four-match suspension in UEFA competitions. These penalties will impact their participation in these tournaments during that period.
José Mourinho, the coach of Roma, will not be present on the touchline for the team’s first Serie A match against Salernitana on August 24. This is because he has received a 10-day ban for calling referee Daniele Chiffi “the worst” after a match in May. Despite facing disciplinary actions from football authorities, Mourinho plans to use this forced break to relax in a more comfortable environment.
Mourinho expressed his lack of surprise regarding another ban and stated that instead of sitting on the bench in the August heat, he would prefer to be in a comfortable and cool place with air conditioning.
Roma’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, hopes to start the season strong against Salernitana. However, uncertainty looms over the availability of Paulo Dybala, who has been linked to Chelsea. Amidst rumors of a potential €12 million exit clause activation, Mourinho remains unaware of the details of Dybala’s contract. Nonetheless, he maintains regular communication with all of his players, including Dybala.
Mourinho has been given a four-game ban by UEFA due to his conduct towards Premier League match official Anthony Taylor during the 2023 Europa League final. This incident occurred when Roma lost on penalties to Sevilla. Additionally, Mourinho received three red cards throughout the 2022-23 season.
