British GP: Max Verstappen beats Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton to victory to extend Red Bull winning streak

Max Verstappen has achieved a remarkable feat by claiming his sixth consecutive victory in Formula 1, marking a milestone in his career. This achievement also brings Red Bull Racing on par with McLaren’s record of 11 successive wins. Lando Norris secured second place for McLaren, while Lewis Hamilton managed to secure third place for Mercedes, taking advantage of the Safety Car situation.

Max Verstappen, the current leader of the world championship, and his team Red Bull continued their impressive winning streaks by showcasing a dominant performance at the British Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen won the race at Silverstone, starting from pole position. This victory marked his sixth consecutive win and also equalled Red Bull’s record of 11 consecutive triumphs.

Lando Norris, who started ahead of Verstappen, continued McLaren’s impressive qualifying display by securing second place at his home race.

Hamilton, who started in seventh place but dropped to ninth after going off track on the first lap, benefited greatly from a Safety Car period due to a fire on Kevin Magnussen’s Haas. This allowed Hamilton, driving for Mercedes, to overtake four competitors who had already made their pit stops.

Norris showcased impressive defensive skills by holding off Hamilton in a thrilling 14-lap race that followed the interruption. Meanwhile, Verstappen effortlessly created a comfortable lead.

Max Verstappen’s triumph in the race extends his lead in the drivers’ standings by a staggering 99 points. This positions him on the brink of claiming his third consecutive championship title. Moreover, Red Bull has established a commanding lead of 208 points over Mercedes in the constructors’ championship.

Oscar Piastri, Norris’ McLaren teammate, drove flawlessly and started from third position. Unfortunately, he missed out on his first Formula 1 podium. However, the Australian rookie managed to secure a career-best fourth-place finish.

George Russell finished in fifth place after being overtaken by his teammate Lewis Hamilton during the Safety Car period. Sergio Perez of Red Bull made an impressive recovery, starting from 15th on the grid and finishing in sixth place.

Fernando Alonso finished in seventh place while Aston Martin continued to struggle, unable to replicate their strong performance from the beginning of the season when they were the closest competitors to Red Bull.

Alex Albon had a fantastic weekend for Williams and finished in eighth place. Ferrari, on the other hand, made some strategic errors, causing Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to drop from fourth and fifth on the grid to finish ninth and tenth.
