Manchester United has agreed with Atalanta to sign striker Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old player is expected to participate in pre-season after completing his medical examination and finalizing personal terms.
Manchester United is in the process of completing a £72m transfer for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
United are aiming to complete Hojlund’s medical this week and finalize a five-year contract, with the possibility of extending for an additional year. They hope to have him ready to participate in one of the team’s upcoming pre-season matches.
United have two games this weekend: Lens on Saturday and Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
Atalanta initially wanted £77m guaranteed for the deal, but the final agreement with Hojlund was for an initial £64m, with an additional £8m in performance-related add-ons.
The forward’s preference for joining Manchester United has been well-known, hence there was no worry about PSG’s interest in the Danish player, as reported by Sky Sports News.
Hojlund agreed to a five-year contract with the option for another 12 months.
Atalanta signed Almeria forward El Bilal Toure, providing a boost to the Premier League side. Hojlund, on the other hand, was not included in the squad for a pre-season friendly against Bournemouth.
