Women’s Scottish Open: Celine Boutier takes three-shot lead into final round at Dundonald Golf Links

Celine Boutier is currently in the lead at the Dundonald Golf Links tournament after a strong third round. She is three strokes ahead of Maja Stark and Patty Tavatanakit. However, Hinako Shibuno, who was leading at the halfway point, has fallen behind.

Celine Boutier is leading the Women’s Scottish Open by three shots in Round 3, aiming for back-to-back titles.

Golfer Celine Boutier won her first major title at the Evian Championship in France, defeating Brooke Henderson by a margin of six strokes.

In Ayrshire, the 29-year-old golfer is currently at 13 under par after three rounds. She shot a six-under 66 on Saturday, with four birdies and a bogey on each half of the course.

Patty Tavatanakit of Thailand and Maja Stark from Sweden are the closest challengers to Celine Boutier, both at 10 under par. Pattty’s impressive round featured two eagles.

Boutier, runner-up to Japan’s Ayaka Furue at this event last year, said: “I definitely feel like I’m hitting a lot of good shots. I’ve been playing well and the fact that I got a good result last week also is giving me confidence.

“I feel like this course is pretty challenging with the weather conditions. I’m just trying to hit the best shots possible under the circumstances. I made a bogey on nine, which also fired me up a little bit.

“I’m just going to try to hopefully play the same and stick to my game-plan and see what happens. Hopefully I have a good solid round on Sunday.”
