Lionel Messi makes opponents see ghosts! Scary ability of Inter Miami superstar compared to NFL legend Tom Brady after latest magic show

Lionel Messi’s presence on the pitch is so intimidating that opponents feel as if they are seeing “ghosts,” according to Taylor Twellman. This ability has been compared to the legendary NFL player Tom Brady.

In his most recent match for Inter Miami, Lionel Messi shined with a brace, including a stunning late free-kick, and also converted a penalty in a successful shootout. He even forced an own goal from an opponent, showcasing his dominance on the field.

Seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady used to have the same impact on the teams that he faced, with ex-USMNT star Twellman telling Apple TV+ of how Inter Miami “have the opposition scoring worldly goals like Marco Farfan. I don’t know what I saw – and they just make you crumble”.

He added: “It’s eerily similar in other sports: when the great ones come in, they force you to do stuff that’s out of your element. You’re uncomfortable doing so. The New England Patriots did this every single time. People would see a ghost when [Bill] Belichick and Brady showed up. In the four games [Messi’s played in], every single time someone [on the opposition] has seen a ghost because Messi is on the other side.”

Messi has scored seven goals for Inter Miami in four appearances, propelling them into the quarter-finals of the Leagues Cup.

David Beckham’s pursuit of Messi as a player for Inter Miami has finally paid off as the Argentine star joined the team in the United States. Messi’s arrival as a free agent has made an immediate impact, with his performances already impressing the club’s board.
