Manchester United has approached Tottenham for midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has two years left on his contract. Additionally, Erik ten Hag is considering Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina and Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich as potential midfield options.
Manchester United have made initial contact for a deal with Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Tottenham would be open to allowing Hojbjerg to leave if a suitable offer came in, as the player has two years remaining on his contract.
The Danish international was close to joining Atletico Madrid.
Tottenham’s 28-year-old player has had limited playing time this season, making only two substitute appearances. He previously worked with manager Erik ten Hag during his time at Bayern Munich’s reserve team in 2013.
Ten Hag had previously attempted to sign Hojbjerg at Ajax, but the player eventually joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2020.
The options for the position include Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.
Ten Hag, the manager, has a positive opinion of both Amrabat and Gravenberch as he has previously worked with them at Utrecht and Ajax respectively.
Amrabat’s potential move is generating speculation, particularly in Italy. He is currently training separately from the main squad as he considers his future.
There might not be any more significant signings for the outfield at Old Trafford this summer.
