Matheus Nunes: Man City reach verbal agreement with Wolves for transfer of midfielder

In a recent transfer update, the football world is buzzing with news of Manchester City’s potential acquisition of Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The English giants are reportedly ready to make a substantial €55m upfront payment to secure the talented midfielder’s services.

The negotiation seems to be a complex one, with additional details still being ironed out. While the initial fee has been agreed upon, the finer points of the deal, such as add-ons and performance-related bonuses, are still under discussion between the two clubs.

Nunes, a Portuguese player contracted to Wolves until 2027, has been the subject of intense interest from several top clubs, including Chelsea. The highly rated midfielder has caught the attention of scouts and managers across Europe with his impressive performances in the Portuguese league.

The player’s absence from training has fueled speculation about his desire to secure a move to the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City’s pursuit of Nunes is seen as a testament to their ambition to strengthen their already formidable squad.

It’s worth noting that Wolverhampton Wanderers broke their transfer record last summer, splashing out a staggering £42m to secure another Portuguese international from Sporting Lisbon. This shows the club’s willingness to invest in top talent, as well as their ability to negotiate lucrative deals.

In a related development, as part of the negotiations between the two clubs, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to benefit from a loan deal involving Manchester City’s promising young talent, Tommy Doyle. The highly regarded midfielder is expected to join Wolves on loan, providing him with valuable playing time and development opportunities.

The loan deal includes an option for Wolverhampton Wanderers to purchase Doyle for a reported £4.3m (€5m) in the future. Furthermore, Manchester City has also secured a sell-on clause, ensuring they retain a financial interest in Doyle’s future success.
