Ryan Gravenberch: Liverpool agree £34.2m deal to sign Bayern Munich midfielder

Liverpool has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign midfielder Ryan Gravenberch for approximately €40m (£34.2m). The player is set to sign a five-year deal with Liverpool and will be flying to Merseyside to finalize the deal.

Liverpool is set to sign a midfielder who will join Jurgen Klopp’s side on a five-year deal. The player will travel to Liverpool on Thursday and undergo a medical examination on Friday.

Gravenberch was absent from Bayern training as he awaited approval for his transfer to Liverpool.

Bayern Munich wanted to recover the £20m they spent on signing Gravenberch from Ajax, along with making a profit. Ajax reportedly has a 7.5% sell-on clause in this agreement.

Bayern Munich is interested in signing Joao Palhinha from Fulham and they are looking for a replacement before allowing Gravenberch to leave.

Gravenberch seeks a chance to regain his progress after limited playing time in Munich.

Liverpool has shown long-standing interest in Gravenberch, as reported by Sky Sports News. He was among their shortlist before choosing to join Bayern from Ajax.

Regular meetings have been taking place with the player’s representative, Jose Fortes Rodriguez from Raiola, since last year.

Liverpool has been considering Gravenberch as a potential signing, but Bayern Munich initially did not want to sell him.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia ended in disappointment, prompting them to refocus their efforts on securing a deal for Gravenberch.

Liverpool is close to finalizing a deal, while Manchester United has not given up their interest in Gravenberch, according to Sky Sports News.

Erik ten Hag has been keen to sign the talented midfielder since the winter window.

United was interested in signing Gravenberch in January but couldn’t due to Bayern’s intervention. As a result, they decided to loan Marcel Sabitzer instead.

United are in negotiations with Fiorentina over Sofyan Amrabat, but there is a disagreement regarding the transfer deal. United wants a loan while Fiorentina prefers a permanent transfer, with both clubs considering their financial restrictions.
