Sergio Reguilon: Manchester United close to agreeing loan deal to sign Tottenham defender

Manchester United are on the verge of securing a loan deal for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard has been given permission to travel to Manchester for a medical assessment. This potential transfer opens up an opportunity for Manchester United to negotiate with Fiorentina for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Manchester United is nearing a deal with Tottenham to acquire defender Sergio Reguilon. Reguilon has been allowed to travel to Manchester for a medical before the transfer deadline on Friday at 11pm.

Manchester United has secured a loan deal for a Spanish left-back as they seek to address their injury concerns in that position.

United is in talks with Chelsea for Marc Cucurella, but a potential deal for Reguilon might be more favorable as it could help United strike a deal with Fiorentina for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Reguilon, a player for Spurs, has yet to play any minutes this season. Last season, he was loaned to Atletico Madrid but only made 12 appearances.

The 26-year-old forward, joined Tottenham in 2020 from Real Madrid for £32m and currently has two years remaining on his contract.

United are working on a deal to sign Amrabat as Reguilon prepares to join Old Trafford.

Fiorentina wants a permanent deal for the player, while Manchester United is considering a loan due to financial fair play (FFP) regulations.

Serie A club may consider a loan with an option that can turn into an obligation, depending on the loan fee and permanent price.

The 27-year-old player desires to join Manchester United and has been excluded from training with Fiorentina until his future is resolved.

The Moroccan international has a one-year contract with the option for an additional year.

Fiorentina’s player, whose future is uncertain, is unlikely to be included in the squad for the upcoming Europa Conference League play-off match against Rapid Vienna.

Lorient is still in discussions with Manchester United regarding the potential signing of midfielder Donny van de Beek.

Several clubs have expressed interest in the Dutch player.
