Tottenham Hotspur will sign Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £47.5m, with a 10% sell-on clause. The forward is expected to undergo a medical in London before completing the move before the transfer deadline on Friday at 11pm. The final details and structure of the payment between the two clubs are still being worked out.

Tottenham have agreed to sign Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5m. The forward is set to undergo a medical before completing the transfer before the deadline.

Tottenham Hotspur is set to acquire Johnson from Forest for £47.5m with a 10% sell-on clause, pending further negotiations regarding payment terms.

Forest are set to sign PSV midfielder Ibrahima Sangare, as he is currently in London and can undergo a medical.

Forest needed funds from selling Johnson to pursue Sangare and meet Financial Fair Play regulations.

Forest held out on selling Johnson for around £50m as they were not eager to sell.

The East Midlanders plan to replace Johnson with Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Brentford and Chelsea were interested in signing Johnson, but Chelsea’s interest has waned recently.

Tottenham Hotspur considered a few potential transfers, including Ansu Fati and Johan Bakayoko, before ultimately choosing to sign Johnson.

The 22-year-old player will be brought in to replace Harry Kane, who recently transferred to Bayern Munich.

Spurs are looking to add a versatile forward who can play in multiple positions, rather than a traditional striker.
