Chelsea have officially signed Cole Palmer for a reported fee of £45 million, bringing their total spending in this transfer market to over £450 million.

Cole Palmer, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, has already proven his ability to be decisive in two different finals. He scored a crucial goal for City in the Community Shield, although they ultimately lost in a penalty shootout.

In the European Super Cup, Guardiola’s team, Manchester City, secured victory against Sevilla with a crucial tying goal, ultimately clinching their first European Super Cup title in Athens.

Cole Palmer had limited playing time at Manchester City last season, appearing in 25 games across all competitions. He played a total of 850 minutes, ranking 19th in the squad rotation. However, his move to Chelsea offers the potential for more playing time, although starting regularly is not guaranteed.

“I came to Chelsea because the project sounds good and because of the stage I will have to show my talent. We are a young and hungry squad and I hope we can do something special,” Palmer said.

The London team made a significant signing and has surpassed spending of over 1 billion pounds since Todd Boehly became in charge in 2022. The team has spent over 500 million euros this summer alone.
