US Open: Coco Gauff reaches women’s singles final after long delay due to climate change protesters, will face Aryna Sabalenka

There was a protest during the US Open with Coco Gauff leading, causing a delay. However, Gauff managed to advance to the final against Aryna Sabalenka.

Coco Gauff triumphed over Karolina Muchova in the US Open women’s semi-final, following a substantial delay caused by climate change protesters at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

During the tennis match, three individuals wearing ‘fossil fuels’ T-shirts caused a disruption, leading to a temporary halt in play.

In a thrilling match at the US Open, teenager Coco Gauff faced off against Muchova. However, the game was briefly halted due to a security issue. Gauff ultimately emerged victorious, securing a spot in her first-ever US Open final with a 6-4, 7-5 win on her sixth match point.

“Some of those points, it was so loud, and I don’t know if my ears are going to be OK,” said Gauff. “Thank you guys this is crazy.

“I grew up watching this tournament so it means a lot to be in the final. But the job is not done, so hopefully you can back me on Saturday.”

Coco Gauff will face Aryna Sabalenka, the new world No 1, in the upcoming match. Sabalenka made a remarkable comeback after losing the first set 0-6 against Madison Keys, eventually winning in a thrilling two hour and 32-minute semi-final.
