NBA App launches new content initiative with ‘Future Starts Now’

The NBA has introduced a new program called “Future Starts Now” on the NBA App. It aims to showcase upcoming basketball stars in one place, allowing fans to follow their journeys from high school and beyond.

“Future Starts Now” is a special section in the NBA App that brings together all the exciting basketball content in one place. It includes live streams, player interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, highlights, and game recaps. You can watch NBA G League Ignite games, international competitions, and youth basketball games in this section. It’s the ultimate destination for basketball fans of all ages.

“When we launched the NBA App last season, we made a commitment to make it the premier destination for elite basketball,” said NBA Senior Vice President, Head of Social, Digital & Original Content Andrew Yaffe.  “Spotlighting the game’s brightest young stars through this new program with events like the 2023 Nike World Basketball Festival gives fans a closer look at the next generation of stars from the beginning of their basketball journey.”

The NBA App and NBA YouTube will stream the girls’ championship at 5:30 p.m. ET and the boys’ championship at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 16. It’s part of a weekend-long Nike Basketball celebration held at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Eight NBA and WNBA stars will coach 80 talented high school players. Bobby Cey, Monica McNutt, and Ros Gold-Onwude will commentate, while Angie Martinez will host the event.

To find and promote talented basketball players from around the world, the league has created new social media accounts. You can now follow @NBAFutureStartsNow on Instagram and TikTok, as well as @NBAfuturenow on X, to stay updated on all the exciting events.

The NBA App has showcased exciting basketball content over the past year. They have streamed over 150 live games and shared vertical video stories of events like Peach Jam, G League Ignite, Jr. NBA Showcase, and more. This content features talented international prospects, top high school players, and other rising stars in the basketball world.
