‘No idea’ – Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag gives blunt response when asked when winger Antony might return from ‘period of absence’ amid multiple assault allegations

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, gave a brief response when asked about Antony’s situation. The Brazil winger is currently absent from the team due to several assault allegations.

Anthony is currently taking a break in Brazil due to a situation involving assault allegations from several women. This absence joins Jadon Sancho’s absence from the team.

Antony stopped playing after being removed from the Brazil team in September due to allegations made by his former partner Gabriela Cavallin. Other claims have also surfaced, leading to investigations by the police in Manchester and São Paulo.

Sancho is training alone because of an argument with Ten Hag. United need more forwards.

However, when questioned before their upcoming match against Brighton, the coach declined to provide a timeline for Antony’s return. It’s worth noting that Antony is included in their Premier League squad for the first half of the season.

“No idea,” Ten Hag told a pre-match press conference when asked when the 23-year-old might make a comeback. “He’s disappointed but he’s OK.”

The accusations against Antony are the most recent problem for United. Last month, they resolved the Mason Greenwood situation by loaning him to Getafe.

The disagreement between Ten Hag and Sancho, which was made public after Sancho criticized Ten Hag on social media, has been causing problems. Additionally, injuries to important players have also contributed to a slow start to the new season.

United will try to regain focus on the field against Brighton, before they start their Champions League campaign with a visit to Bayern Munich on September 20.
