Max Verstappen won the Japanese GP and Red Bull became constructors champions for the sixth time. Verstappen started in pole position and maintained his lead throughout the race, finishing 19 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, Lando Norris.
Red Bull has won the Constructors’ Championship with six races to go after Verstappen’s 25 point win. Mercedes and Ferrari cannot catch up anymore.
Norris came in second place, ahead of his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who got his first podium finish in Formula 1.
Charles Leclerc finished fourth for Ferrari for the third race in a row. He was ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who had intense battles with Mercedes teammate George Russell and made a bold overtake on Fernando Alonso at 130R.
Carlos Sainz finished sixth in the Ferrari, while Russell came in seventh after trying a one-stop strategy.
Alonso finished eighth for Aston Martin, and Alpine had a good race with Gasly in ninth and Ocon in tenth, earning double points.
During the race, Verstappen secured the world title for Red Bull. However, it was a tough day for his teammate Perez who faced multiple challenges and had to pit for new front wings after contact with Hamilton and Magnussen. Unfortunately, he had to retire from the race twice.
Verstappen is now leading the championship by 177 points after Perez failed to score. Verstappen could become the world champion in the next Sprint race at the Qatar GP.
