Jadon Sancho: Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will not back down in stand-off with winger

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag is not giving in to Jadon Sancho. He won’t let Sancho join the first-team training until he says sorry.

Erik ten Hag, the Manchester United manager, is standing firm in his disagreement with Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has not played for the club recently because he feels that he has been unfairly blamed for things in the past.

Ten Hag did not choose the winger for the squad against Arsenal because of his training performance.

United were hoping the issue would be solved during the international break. The club’s director of football, John Murtough, and CEO, Richard Arnold, were working as mediators.

There is no agreement yet between the parties. United believes that an apology from Sancho to Ten Hag is necessary to resolve the situation.

The Dutchman didn’t comment on the situation after United’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Ten Hag cannot accept his authority being publicly questioned by a player. This undermines his position and goes against disciplinary rules.

The Professional Footballers’ Association is supporting Sancho, who feels treated unfairly. Senior players at United have also tried to resolve the situation.

Some players feel sorry for Sancho, but no one thinks he should have shared the message on X, previously called Twitter, which had been seen by over 60 million people.

Sancho deactivated his Instagram account on Tuesday and has not been part of the first-team group since September 14th.

United say he is not isolated but is training individually at Carrington Academy.

The 23-year-old is still being looked after by fitness staff and coaches, with medical support and access to all necessary resources at the training ground. The club says he is temporarily not part of the first-team until the matter is resolved.

Sancho has previously been left out of Man United training by Ten Hag. He had to follow a separate fitness program in the Netherlands last season and missed watching the World Cup.

Sancho didn’t play for United from October to February but returned for the Carabao Cup final and had a good season with seven goals and three assists.

Sancho not playing recently on the right-wing has raised concerns about the team’s lack of options in that position. Antony’s return to the club has been delayed due to allegations of assault.

The Brazilian winger denies the allegations, but has been given a paid leave of absence without being suspended.
