Neymar, a Brazilian football player, will undergo surgery for a knee injury. He suffered a rupture in his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus during a match against Uruguay. The length of his recovery time has not been specified by his club, Al Hilal.
Neymar will have surgery due to a serious knee injury. The injury involves a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee. Neymar’s club, Al Hilal, has officially confirmed this.
Neymar cried when he got injured during Brazil’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay on Tuesday.
Al Hilal did not mention the duration of the 31-year-old player’s expected absence.
Al-Hilal posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “He will be going through surgery and then a treatment programme that will be determined later. Return stronger Neymar.”
Neymar got injured while fighting for the ball with Uruguay’s Nicolas de la Cruz during the 44th minute of the 2-0 loss.
He was taken off the field in tears on a stretcher after being treated for a while. It seems like he will be out of action for a few months.
Recovering from ACL injuries can often take six months to a year. This means the player may not be able to play for the rest of the season and there is uncertainty about his participation in next year’s Copa America tournament, which begins in June.
Neymar broke Pele’s record last month to become Brazil’s highest-scoring male player. He scored his 78th and 79th goals for his country in a World Cup qualifying match against Bolivia, which Brazil won 5-1.
Neymar, who used to play for Barcelona, recently left Paris Saint-Germain and joined Al Hilal. However, since his move, he has only scored one goal in five games.
Neymar has had some injury problems in recent seasons, causing him to miss several months of play. He also missed a couple of World Cup games due to an ankle sprain.
