Casemiro: Manchester United without midfielder for Sheffield United game after ankle injury on Brazil duty

Manchester United’s Casemiro recently injured his ankle while playing for Brazil.

Manchester United will be without Casemiro for their game against Sheffield United on Saturday Night Football. He got an ankle injury while playing for Brazil.

Casemiro was substituted with 11 minutes left in a 1-1 draw with Venezuela last week. He has stayed in Brazil, following the club’s advice, to help his recovery.

The midfielder is expected to return to Carrington early next week and resume training, although he will miss the visit to Bramall Lane, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

However, he cannot play in the Champions League game against FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford because he was suspended after being sent off against Galatasaray.

The captain of the national team, aged 31, requested to be substituted during the match against Venezuela. He was replaced by Andre. The manager of the Brazilian team, Fernando Diniz, stated that the player asked to be substituted because he had injured his ankle.

Casemiro joins Man Utd’s long injury list. Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat trained with the squad, which was a boost for the team.

Reguilon missed the last four matches due to a small injury, and Amrabat was not available for Morocco’s games against Liberia and Ivory Coast.

Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be out for a long time. Raphael Varane, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad Diallo are also currently unavailable.

Jadon Sancho might leave the club in January due to problems with Erik ten Hag. Antony has recently resumed training as he assists with ongoing police investigations into domestic abuse claims.

The international break came at a good time for Casemiro. After being sent off in Manchester United’s loss to Galatasaray and being substituted at half-time against Brentford, the Brazilian player seemed to need some time off.

Not even Brazil’s matches provided much comfort for him. The 31-year-old had to leave the game after getting hurt in their 1-1 tie with Venezuela. When he returned to play against Uruguay a few days later, he couldn’t do anything to avoid a 2-0 loss. He just can’t seem to have any good luck.

It’s been the same throughout the season. Casemiro had a great first season at Old Trafford. He is praised for bringing a winning attitude and motivating Manchester United to win their first trophy in six years, the Carabao Cup.

But the recent decline is worrying. In their first match against Wolves, which they were lucky to win, Gary Neville from Sky Sports said that Casemiro was torn apart and the midfield was nonexistent.
