Fulham manager Marco Silva has pledged his future to the Cottagers until 2026. Initially, Silva was hesitant to commit to a new deal when it was first offered in July. However, he has now decided to stay. Under Silva’s leadership last season, the club finished 10th in the Premier League.
Fulham manager Marco Silva has agreed to a new contract extension until 2026, which is three years longer than his previous deal. He accepted the offer three months after it was first presented to him.
Silva’s contract was set to end in June. He took Fulham from the Championship to the Premier League in his first season as manager and helped them achieve a 10th place finish in May, their best in 11 years.
He received a contract offer in July, but he was hesitant to sign it after rejecting a lucrative opportunity in Saudi Arabia.
Fulham is currently in 13th place in the table after playing nine games. They are only one point away from being in the top half.
Speaking to the club website, Silva said: “I’m really pleased to sign a new contract as it was something we had been discussing for some time. It’s always a good sign when both parties are happy and want to continue working together.
“I feel that the business is not done yet, we’ve had two great seasons, and the goal is clearly there to sustain this club in the Premier League. This is key for the future of this club, and we are working hard to achieve it.
“It is important to feel the trust and have the support of our owners. My relationship with them, and with Fulham as a whole, has been really important in this decision and the success of the last two seasons.
“The commitment and ambition that these players have demonstrated since day one has been the key to what we have achieved, and that will always continue to be the case, along with the unconditional support of our fans, who are fundamental. Let’s continue together on this long journey.”
Silva’s record at the west London club is 51 wins, 21 draws, and 33 losses in 105 games.
