LIV Golf will hold an event in Las Vegas for the week of the Super Bowl

LIV Golf, the prestigious golf league backed by Saudi Arabia, has recently revealed its highly anticipated schedule for the upcoming 2024 season, and it’s causing quite a stir in the golfing world. With a strong emphasis on expanding its global reach, LIV Golf’s ambitious lineup includes an exciting event slated for the vibrant city of Las Vegas.

Kicking off the season from February 2-4 in the beautiful surroundings of Mayakoba, Mexico, LIV Golf will provide golf aficionados with a riveting start to the year. Following this, golf enthusiasts can look forward to a new and thrilling addition to their calendars: the much-anticipated Las Vegas showcase scheduled from February 8-10.

What makes the Las Vegas event particularly intriguing is its strategic timing. As the golfing spotlight shifts to Las Vegas, the city will be buzzing with anticipation, as the LIV Golf showcase concludes just before the highly anticipated Super Bowl takes place on its home turf. This unique alignment is undeniably an excellent opportunity for both golf and football fans to revel in a week full of sports excitement and entertainment.

While LIV Golf is making significant strides in becoming a global series, it is worth noting that the league aims to strike a balance between events within the United States and those held in various countries worldwide. In addition to Mexico and the United States, LIV Golf has also scheduled competitions in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Spain, and Britain. This diverse range of locations not only showcases the league’s commitment to expanding its global footprint but also adds an element of cultural diversity and international flavor to the sport.

It’s also interesting to observe that none of the announced tournaments are set to be hosted at golf courses owned by former US President Donald Trump, who had previously played host to five LIV Golf events over the league’s initial two years. However, three slots on the schedule remain to be filled, leaving room for potential surprises and further expansion.

Looking back at the past season, LIV Golf held six events internationally and eight within the United States in 2023. However, with the 2024 schedule in place, the league’s ambition to captivate worldwide attention and inspire progress within the sport is more evident than ever. LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, stating in a press release, “Our goal has always been to create a worldwide league that inspires progress and attracts new fans to the sport that we love. LIV Golf is stronger than ever, and next season will accomplish that goal and more.”

As golf enthusiasts eagerly await the commencement of the 2024 LIV Golf season, the anticipation is palpable. With a captivating lineup of events in various stunning locations across the globe, the league is poised to captivate audiences, elevate the sport, and leave an indelible mark on the world of golf.
