Jurgen Klopp provides worrying Joel Matip update after defender forced off during Fulham victory

I spoke to him and said, ‘Ah no, that is not good.’ But how long he will be injured for, we don’t know.”

Klopp did provide some hopeful news, mentioning that Alisson and Jota are nearing their return to action. He stated, “Diogo was running yesterday outside, on his birthday, and everything is going in the right direction. However, no one has told me he will be back in team training. It will be some time. Obviously, Alisson is closer, but he will not be available for tomorrow’s match, for sure.”

In Matip’s absence, Klopp called upon Ibrahima Konate to fill the void in the defense against Fulham. It remains to be seen whether Konate will be given the opportunity to start in their upcoming Premier League clash against Sheffield United.
