Bayern and Eric Dier have reached a verbal agreement for a transfer, with the 29-year-old eager to join.

The recent negotiations between Bayern Munich and Eric Dier have been the subject of widespread speculation and anticipation in the football world. Reports suggest that the two parties have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the English defender from Tottenham Hotspur to the Bundesliga. It is reported that a verbal agreement has been reached, with Eric Dier expressing his eagerness to make the move. The proposed contract is said to extend until 2025, with a transfer fee of under €5m agreed upon with Spurs. However, Bayern Munich is yet to make the final decision on the transfer.

When questioned about the potential transfer of Eric Dier to Bayern, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his lack of knowledge about the situation, stating, “I know absolutely zero.” Furthermore, it has been revealed that Dier sustained an injury during training, which led to his absence from the team’s recent selection.

Notably, it is believed that Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern, had shown interest in bringing Eric Dier to Bayern as a new addition to the squad as early as last summer. However, negotiations at that time encountered challenges related to personal terms, particularly Dier’s request for a three-year contract extending until June 2026. It appears that the situation has now shifted, with Dier reportedly accepting Bayern’s proposal. While Tuchel remains interested in the player, the final decision now rests with the club.

This development is significant given that Thomas Tuchel had previously endorsed Eric Dier as a potential candidate for Bayern last summer, and his return to the list of transfer targets demonstrates the high regard in which he is held. Dier’s versatility and experience on the field are seen as valuable assets that could make an immediate impact for the club.
