Fofana, who passed a breathalyser test, was driving at the end of a night out. Despite the accident occurring in December 2022, Gaffney chose not to publicize the incident, expressing that he did not hold Fofana responsible. At the time, Fofana had recently joined Chelsea from Leicester, and he was in the early days of his career with the club.

Unfortunately, Fofana’s season with Chelsea has been marred by injury, as he has been sidelined due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, preventing him from featuring in any matches this season.
