Visa Cash App RB launch VCARB 01: Renamed team reveal stunning livery for Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda at Las Vegas event

The renamed RB team revealed a stunning new livery as they launched the VCARB 01 at a glitzy event in Las Vegas. In contrast to many of the liveries revealed in the first week of 2024 Formula 1 launches, Red Bull’s sister team unveiled a striking blue and white design, moving away from the navy-dominated look of the team’s final campaign as AlphaTauri. The eye-catching blue and white livery was unveiled at a glamorous event, capturing the attention of the attendees and Formula 1 enthusiasts alike.

Drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda were present in Las Vegas, fresh off the city’s return to the F1 calendar in November, adding to the excitement of the occasion. Notably, Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar performed at the ceremony, further enhancing the grandeur of the event.

The RB team, known for creating off-season headlines, underwent a significant process of rebranding to Visa Cash App RB. Despite this renaming, most media outlets continue to refer to the team as ‘RB’. Additionally, the team took strategic steps to revitalize the project, which had experienced a decline in momentum during consecutive disappointing campaigns. This included key changes in leadership and significant additions to the technical team.

The long-anticipated reinvigoration of the team included the replacement of long-time team principal Franz Tost with former Ferrari sporting director Laurent Mekies, as well as the appointment of former FIA F1 executive director Peter Bayer as chief executive. In January, the team confirmed a trio of eye-catching hires, welcoming Tim Goss as chief technical officer, Alan Permane as racing director, and Guillaume Cattelani as deputy technical director.

The recruitment of Ricciardo, who replaced Nyck de Vries mid-season, was seen as a pivotal move to inject the much-needed input of an experienced driver into the car development process. With these changes and developments, the team appears to be well-positioned to make significant progress in the upcoming season.

Furthermore, the team is set to enhance its collaboration with Red Bull by relocating a substantial portion of its personnel from the Italian-based Faenza to the UK. This move signifies a closer working relationship between the RB team and Red Bull, setting the stage for increased synergy and potential advancements.

Both Ricciardo and Tsunoda are highly motivated to excel, with aspirations to secure a Red Bull seat in 2025 as Sergio Perez approaches the final year of his contract as Max Verstappen’s teammate. The upcoming pre-season testing, scheduled from Wednesday, February 21 to Friday, February 23 at the Bahrain International Circuit, presents a critical opportunity for the teams to prepare for the new season within a compressed timeframe.
