𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: The Bellingham – Greenwood case is DISMISSED!

The case involving Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Getafe loanee Mason Greenwood has been the subject of much attention in the Spanish top-flight. The alleged incident took place on February 1, when the two players, both with England caps to their name, crossed paths on the pitch. Bellingham’s vigorous challenge on Greenwood was captured on camera, and the subsequent events led to allegations of Bellingham using a derogatory term towards Greenwood, specifically the word “rapist”.

However, after an investigation that included the involvement of a lip-reading expert, La Liga has reportedly decided to drop the case. The difficulty in accurately determining the exact words spoken by Bellingham led to the conclusion that no disciplinary action will be taken. The report from Marca indicates that the uncertainty between whether Bellingham said “rapist” or “rubbish” played a significant role in this decision.

It’s worth noting that Mason Greenwood, who is on loan from Manchester United, faced legal issues himself earlier, having been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and coercive and controlling behavior in January 2022. However, these charges were dropped in February 2023, allowing him to focus on his football once again.

As for the players’ future, Greenwood is expected to secure a permanent transfer away from Old Trafford this summer. Meanwhile, Bellingham, who has made an impact at Santiago Bernabeu with 20 goals in his debut campaign, is facing a domestic ban following a controversial clash with Valencia that resulted in a red card after the final whistle had been blown.
