In the latest developments at the Madrid Open, Norway’s Casper Ruud secured a dominant victory over Britain’s Cameron Norrie, propelling him into the last-16 stage. Ruud showcased his prowess by cruising to an opening 6-2 set success in just 31 minutes, breaking Norrie three times as the Brit struggled to handle his power. Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal, playing in front of an adoring home support, faced a formidable challenge from Argentina’s Pedro Cachin. Additionally, Beatriz Haddad Maia secured a notable victory by defeating fifth-seeded Maria Sakkari, setting up a face-off against Iga Swiatek in the next round. Eighth-seeded Ons Jabeur also displayed her prowess with a 6-0 6-4 win over Jelena Ostapenko. However, Coco Gauff’s bid to climb the rankings faced a setback as she lost to fellow American Madison Keys in a closely contested match.
