Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored the most goals ever in a Saudi Pro League season

Al-Hilal’s triumphant victory in the championship not only secured their 19th title but also reinforced their existing record, marking yet another season where Ronaldo narrowly missed clinching the Saudi Pro League title. Despite this, the acclaimed five-time Ballon d’Or winner found comfort in claiming the Golden Boot and shattering a new goalscoring record for the league.

His remarkable feat of 35 goals, accomplished in a mere 31 matches, surpassed the previous record set by Abderrazak Hamdallah in 2019. This season proved to be exceptional for the former Manchester United forward, highlighted by an impressive four hat-tricks and a noteworthy total of 12 assists. His consistent performance throughout the matches drew widespread attention from fans and analysts alike, solidifying his status as one of the top footballers of the season. The combination of agility, precision, and strategic acumen demonstrated by the forward on the field was a testament to his dedication and skill.

However, amidst these achievements, Cristiano Ronaldo encountered his share of challenges, facing two suspensions throughout the season. The initial suspension followed a red card issued for an elbow incident in April, while the subsequent suspension took place in February due to an incident where he provoked Al-Shabab fans with a gesture, incited by their chants of ‘Messi, Messi’ directed at the 39-year-old. Additionally, Cristiano Ronaldo created history by becoming the first player ever to secure the top scorer title in four different leagues.
