Tsitsipas, the ninth seed and recent winner at Monte Carlo, demonstrated his resilience as he navigated through a competitive match, showcasing his prowess on clay, his favored surface. Initially on track for an easy win, Tsitsipas faced increased aggression from Altmaier, who dominated the tie-break in the third set to narrow the gap. Despite momentarily trailing after Altmaier’s break, the Greek player swiftly recovered, ultimately securing the victory on his opponent’s serve.
