BREAKING: Benjamin Šeško has decided to STAY at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract on a bigger salary

Arsenal and Chelsea have been closely monitoring Benjamin Sesko’s situation, but it seems that the 21-year-old forward has made the decision to stay at RB Leipzig for the upcoming season. According to Telegraph Sport, Sesko believes that his development will be best served by remaining in the Bundesliga for at least another year, with negotiations for a new contract underway.

Sesko, who is considered as one of the most promising young forwards in Europe, has been a subject of strong interest from Arsenal, with reports indicating that they were keen on securing his services to strengthen their attacking options. However, with the player opting to stay put at RB Leipzig, interested Premier League clubs will need to reconsider their strategies as the terms of his potential departure are set to change due to the new deal he is finalizing.

The Slovenia international’s decision to remain in Germany is likely to maintain the intrigue of Premier League clubs, who will likely keep an eye on his progress for a possible move in the future. It’s worth noting that if Sesko had chosen to move this summer, clubs could have activated a release clause valued at around £55 million.

Sesko’s upcoming challenge against a group of Premier League defenders in the European Championship when Slovenia faces England on June 25 will be a significant opportunity for scouts to observe his talents. He notably scored 18 goals for RB Leipzig in all competitions last season, including an impressive run of seven goals in his last seven matches. Renowned for his physical prowess and finishing ability, Sesko has undoubtedly caught the attention of top clubs across Europe.

Aside from Sesko, another player that Arsenal had been considering in recent months is Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee. The 23-year-old forward has also been on the radar of the North London club, as reported by Telegraph Sport in January. However, recent speculation indicates that Zirkzee is close to joining AC Milan from Bologna.

While Sesko’s decision to stay in German football does not necessarily mean that Arsenal will shift their attention to another center-forward, it may prompt them to focus on bolstering their wide attacking options instead. With existing talents like Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in their squad, Arsenal could prioritize signing a winger over a traditional striker, particularly due to the lack of quality cover for Bukayo Saka on the right flank.

Moreover, apart from enhancements in their attacking lineup, Arsenal are also keen on strengthening their defensive options in the upcoming transfer window. Additionally, there could be a need to secure a replacement goalkeeper should Aaron Ramsdale depart from the club, as has been widely anticipated.
