Mason Greenwood Transfer: Marseille Leads Race Amid Manchester United Exit Speculations

The situation regarding Mason Greenwood’s potential departure from Manchester United is continuing to develop. Marseille seems to be at the forefront of the race to sign the talented forward, edging closer to securing his transfer. Advanced negotiations with Old Trafford executives have put Marseille ahead of Lazio and Juventus as the most likely destination for Greenwood.

Despite interest from a number of other clubs such as Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, and Napoli, Marseille and Lazio have made firm offers for the 22-year-old. Greenwood, who has attracted attention after his loan spell at Getafe, has been involved in talks with United officials. However, he did not participate in training with his teammates as the uncertainty surrounding his future persists.

Manchester United’s stance remains firm on Greenwood’s situation, as they previously announced his intended departure to “rebuild” his career elsewhere following the dropping of attempted rape and assault charges. This decision has continued even after Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new co-owner, expressed the need for a “fair decision” reflecting the club’s values. Nevertheless, the final decision on Greenwood’s future is expected to be made by the club in the summer.

The potential departure of another player, Donny van de Beek, is also on the horizon, as United is close to finalizing terms with Girona. These developments indicate a significant reshaping of the Manchester United squad in the upcoming season.
