Cole Palmer signs new deal at Chelsea with higher salary as reward after excellent first season

The future looks bright for Chelsea as young talent Cole Palmer has committed to the club by signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2033.

Palmer, the 22-year-old forward from England, made the move from Manchester City to Chelsea last year for an initial fee of £40m with £2.5m due in potential add-ons. His exceptional first season with the Blues saw him contribute to 33 goals, boasting an impressive tally of 22 goals and 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

This extension reflects the club’s confidence in Palmer’s abilities and recognizes his breakthrough performance. Despite his late return from Euro 2024, Chelsea’s new boss, Enzo Maresca, has already demonstrated faith in Palmer by deploying him as a second-half substitute in a recent friendly draw with Inter Milan.

The upcoming season is set to be an exciting one for Chelsea, with a clash against Manchester City and a Conference League play-off against Servette or Braga on the horizon. This follows a period of extensive activity for the club, with ten summer signings and significant investment further solidifying their position as one of the most formidable squads in the Premier League.

With a fresh contract and promising prospects, Cole Palmer represents a key component of Chelsea’s ambitious plans for the future.
