Official: Bournemouth complete Julian Araujo deal permanent transfer from Barcelona

Bournemouth have made an impressive move by securing the signature of Mexico full-back Julian Araujo on a lucrative five-year deal from Barcelona. The club displayed their ambition by investing a significant €10m fee in Araujo, with no buy back or sell-on clauses included in the deal for Barça.

At 23 years old, Araujo’s journey to Bournemouth has seen him progress through the ranks, having joined Barcelona from LA Galaxy last summer before promptly being loaned out to Las Palmas. During his time with the Spanish club, he made a mark with 25 La Liga appearances, displaying his talent and determination on the field.

Araujo’s arrival marks an exciting addition to Bournemouth’s squad, making him the fifth senior summer signing for the club. This signing follows the footsteps of Dean Huijsen, Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal, and Alex Paulsen, adding depth and versatility to the team.

His talent and dedication have also been recognized at the international level, with the player earning 13 caps for Mexico and contributing to the side’s triumph in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup.
