π——π—˜π—”π—Ÿ π——π—’π—‘π—˜: Fulham have announced the signing of Sander Berge from Burnley

Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge has completed a much-anticipated move to Fulham from Burnley in a deal worth Β£25 million. The 26-year-old, previously a target for Manchester United, sealed the transfer after Fulham’s pursuit of Scott McTominay from the Red Devils fell through. Fulham’s offer for Berge consisted of an initial payment of Β£20 million, with an additional Β£5 million contingent on performance-related clauses.

Berge, who has committed to a five-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, has been assigned the number 16 jersey at his new club. His arrival bolsters the midfield ranks for manager Marco Silva, following the departure of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

Speaking toΒ FFCtv, Berge said: “It feels fantastic. It’s been a little bit back and forth the last few weeks, but I’m finally sitting here in the shirt in this beautiful stadium, knowing that my future is here, which feels great.

“Fulham has always been a team that excited me. I’ve played them both in the Championship and Premier League, and it’s fantastic how they play, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1.

“The DNA of the Club is to be dominant, aggressive, front-footed, and play nice football, and I think that suits me.”

This acquisition marks Fulham’s fourth signing of the summer, following the captures of Emile Smith Rowe, Ryan Sessegnon, and Jorge Cuenca. Meanwhile, Berge’s departure from Burnley comes after a single season at Turf Moor, during which he was sidelined due to injury.

The Norwegian has yet to feature in Burnley’s recent matches, despite their rise to the top of the Championship. Manager Scott Parker attributed Berge’s absence to his ongoing recovery.
