Official: Jordan Ayew joins Leicester City on £5m deal plus £3m add-ons from Crystal Palace

Leicester City FC recently completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew from Crystal Palace, securing his services for a two-year deal initially valued at £5 million. Ayew, who had been with Palace for the past six years and made 212 appearances, will provide valuable reinforcement to the Foxes’ attacking lineup. The 32-year-old, whose transfer could eventually amount to £8 million with potential add-ons, joins Oliver Skipp as one of Leicester’s latest acquisitions. Skipp, a midfielder, arrived from Tottenham Hotspur for a £20 million fee earlier in the week.

Manager Steve Cooper expressed his desire to bolster the team’s forward options, and Ayew eagerly shared his enthusiasm about the move, conveying his gratitude to the club for their efforts in bringing him on board. In his words: “I’m very happy to be here and I’m proud. I want to thank the club as they fought hard to bring me here – it happened quickly and I’m so happy to be here. As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve. Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets.”

Following their 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the opening game of the Premier League season, which saw Jamie Vardy netting the equaliser, Leicester is preparing for their upcoming league fixture against Fulham this Saturday at 15:00 BST.
