Napoli have decided to loan Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray following the collapse of his potential move to Chelsea and Al-Ahli

The striker’s potential move to Stamford Bridge was a central point of discussion as Chelsea looked to secure a loan deal with an obligation to buy. However, negotiations fell through due to a failure to agree on contract terms, leaving Osimhen in a state of uncertainty. This disruption also led to the abandonment of interest from Al-Ahli, as they closed a £40 million deal for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

With new manager Antonio Conte already securing Romelu Lukaku as a replacement, the relationship between Osimhen and Napoli became strained, culminating in his omission from the squad list for the new Serie A campaign. Despite this setback, Turkish champions Galatasaray have emerged as a potential destination, offering to cover his substantial weekly salary, reported to be around £240,000-a-week. Napoli has approved the loan, and Galatasaray has dispatched a delegation to Italy to persuade Osimhen to join their ranks.

A move to Galatasaray would see Osimhen in the company of talented players such as Mauro Icardi, Hakim Ziyech, and Michy Batshuayi, adding depth and competition to the squad. Furthermore, joining Galatasaray would bring Osimhen face to face with new Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho, setting the stage for intriguing encounters, especially considering their past interactions during Mourinho’s tenure at Roma.

The potential agreement with Galatasaray also carries ramifications for Tottenham, as they are scheduled to face Galatasaray in a challenging Europa League clash next month, potentially pitting Osimhen against the London side. This turn of events marks a significant development in Osimhen’s career and adds further complexity to the football landscape.
