Super Bowl 2025 will feature rapper Kendrick Lamar as the headline performer for the half-time show in New Orleans

The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation declared that Kendrick Lamar, a 17-time Grammy winner, will take center stage during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. Lamar expressed his excitement about bringing hip-hop to the NFL’s championship game, having previously performed as a guest artist alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in 2022. His most recent album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” released in 2022, featured the track “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year.

Jay-Z, the founder of Roc Nation, hailed Lamar as a “once-in-a-generation” artist and performer. Super Bowl LIX’s location holds significance as it marks the 11th time the event will be held in New Orleans, with the most recent occurrence being in 2013.

Reflecting on past performances, Usher wowed the audience with a star-studded halftime show last year, featuring guests such as H.E.R, Jermaine Dupri, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys. Notable artists who have graced the halftime stage in the past include The Rolling Stones, Prince, and more recently, Rihanna, who delivered a dazzling spectacle at Super Bowl LVII.

The previous performances by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in Miami in 2020, as well as the unforgettable halftime show by hip-hop legends Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in Super Bowl LVI in 2022, have solidified the stage’s reputation as a platform for iconic musical moments.
