Olympique Marseille confirm they have reached an agreement in principle to sign Adrien Rabiot.Deal valid until June 2026.

France international Adrien Rabiot has been the subject of significant transfer speculation since becoming a free agent this summer. After his contract with Juventus expired at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, Rabiot was linked with several top clubs, including Manchester United. However, it seems that he is set to join Ligue 1 side Marseille on a free transfer.

Marseille, who are under the management of former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, have been busy strengthening their squad in the transfer window. The addition of Rabiot, along with the signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United, reflects the club’s ambition to compete at the highest level in French and European football.

An official statement from the club reads: “Olympique de Marseille announces that it has reached an agreement in principle with Adrien Rabiot for the arrival of the French international midfielder at the club. The player will sign with OM subject to the results of the medical examination.”

Despite being left out of the France squad for the Nations League matches against Italy and Belgium, Rabiot’s experience as a French international midfielder adds valuable depth to Marseille’s midfield. His potential arrival at the club is subject to a medical examination, and Marseille will be hopeful that he can swiftly integrate into the team ahead of their upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Lyon on September 22.

With Rabiot’s move to Marseille seemingly on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how he adapts to his new club and contributes to their ambitions for the season ahead. Marseille fans will be eagerly anticipating the official announcement of Rabiot’s arrival and are sure to welcome him with great enthusiasm as he prepares to don the iconic jersey of the club.
