AS Roma has the lowest scoring record in 33 years

Roma continues to face difficulties in their attacking game, frequently struggling to score despite generating numerous chances. This persistent challenge highlights a troubling situation for the Giallorossi this season and raises concerns regarding their offensive tactics.

In the match against Monza, Roma had created several scoring opportunities before halftime, yet they only converted one, which was scored by Dovbyk. However, the following two matches revealed an additional issue: although they were able to create some chances, the overall number of scoring opportunities was worryingly low. This lack of chances in the final third has resulted in a minimal goal tally, contributing to the team’s disappointing overall performance.

Calculating the team’s record, Roma has only managed to score 10 goals across 11 matches this season. This statistic underscores the urgent need for improvement in their attacking approach and highlights a more significant problem within their gameplay.

According to Corriere dello Sport, this situation marks the lowest goal-scoring record for Roma since the 1991/92 season. During that time, under the guidance of Ottavio Bianchi, the club was navigating its own challenging period, characterized by instability within its corporate structure, particularly during the transition between the Viola family and Giuseppe Ciarrapico. At the same stage in the season back then, Roma had netted just 9 goals— a figure they have now exceeded but that still serves as a reminder of their historical struggles.
