PSG Denies €250 Million Offer for Lamine Yamal

According to a report by L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain have firmly denied the recent rumours circulating in the Spanish media that they made a substantial offer of €250 million to FC Barcelona for the young talent Lamine Yamal, who is only 17 years old, over the summer transfer window.

The confusion seems to have originated from a statement made by Enric Masip, who serves as an advisor to Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona. During an interview with the Spanish television show El Chiringuito, Masip claimed that “The president has already said that he had an offer of €250 million that he had rejected, that he had never considered it. It came from France.” This statement fueled speculation about the possible move of Yamal, a highly regarded prospect in the football world.

However, PSG was quick to react, providing a strong rebuttal to these claims when they spoke to L’Équipe. The club stated categorically that they deny this story “a million per cent.” The officials elaborated on their denial by mentioning that such an offer would have been financially impossible for them to present during the summer, as the club could not accommodate that vast expenditure.

In addition to addressing the rumors, PSG clarified that their sporting advisor, Luís Campos, did indeed make some preliminary inquiries regarding Yamal’s situation during the transfer window. However, they emphasized that this is a standard practice; Campos routinely engages with various clubs and keeps comprehensive files on a multitude of players to stay informed about potential talents for the team.

This response from PSG not only aims to dispel the circulating rumors but also reaffirms their commitment to prudent financial operations while navigating the complexities of player acquisitions in the fiercely competitive landscape of professional football.
