Breaking: Manchester City’s £33.5m Offer for Abdukodir Khusanov Accepted by Lens

Manchester City are on the verge of two significant signings that could bolster their squad for the current season and beyond. Firstly, the Premier League champions are close to completing a deal for Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov. The young Uzbekistan international centre-back, only 20 years of age, has been a standout performer in Ligue 1, and his signing is seen as a strategic move by City to strengthen their defensive lineup. An agreement has been reached between Manchester City and Lens at £33.5m (€40m) plus potential bonuses, and Khusanov is expected to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract that also includes the option for an additional year, extending his stay until June 2030.

In parallel, the club has made headway in negotiations for another promising talent, Omar Marmoush, who has recently agreed in principle to join from Eintracht Frankfurt, pending a formal agreement between the two clubs. Marmoush has been in exceptional form this season, netting 13 goals in the Bundesliga, which has put him firmly on City’s radar. The German club is demanding roughly £67m (€80m) for the 25-year-old Egyptian international, and discussions over the transfer are expected to commence shortly. With the Bundesliga side currently sitting third in the league, they are likely to be firm in their stance regarding the transfer fee.

Marmoush’s desire to join Manchester City is fueled by the knowledge that he is Pep Guardiola’s top target for this transfer window. Despite the hefty price tag, both City and Marmoush’s representatives believe that a more realistic transfer fee could be in the range of £42m to £50m (€50m to €60m). They anticipate that any initial offers significantly below this figure will be dismissed by Eintracht Frankfurt, who are keen to maximize their return for a player who has been pivotal to their campaign this season. An opening bid from Manchester City could potentially materialize as early as this weekend, setting the stage for what could be a compelling chapter in their ongoing transfer saga.
