Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 Kansas City Chiefs

In a closely contested game, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17, marking their seventh consecutive win. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley contributed with touchdown runs, while Andrew Mukuba’s interception of Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter proved pivotal. Despite Hurts’ 101 passing yards and Barkley’s 88 rushing yards, the Eagles’ defense was dominant, limiting the Chiefs to 294 total yards and forcing a crucial turnover. Mahomes struggled without key receivers, and the Chiefs are now 0-2 for the first time since 2014.

Atlanta Falcons 22-6 Minnesota Vikings

Bijan Robinson rushed for 143 yards, and Parker Romo successfully kicked all five field goals in his Atlanta debut as the Falcons defeated the Minnesota Vikings 22-6. Tyler Allgeier contributed with 67 rushing yards and a late touchdown. The Falcons’ strong running game, with a total of 219 yards on 38 carries, helped them maintain control against a struggling Vikings offense that only crossed midfield three times.

Michael Penix Jr. had a solid performance, completing 13 of 21 passes for 135 yards without turnovers. A diving interception by Billy Bowman Jr. set up one of Romo’s field goals. The Vikings, under coach Kevin O’Connell, attempted a bold play before halftime, leading to a 50-yard pass to Justin Jefferson, who made history by becoming one of the youngest players to reach 500 career catches. The Vikings ended the half down 9-6 but struggled in the second half.

New York Giants 37-40 Dallas Cowboys (OT)

Aubrey made a crucial 46-yard field goal in overtime, securing a 40-37 victory for the Dallas Cowboys over the New York Giants. The game featured a dramatic finish, with both Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson throwing go-ahead touchdowns in the final minute of regulation, culminating in Aubrey’s tying 64-yarder. Wilson threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns, including a 48-yarder to Malik Nabers for a short-lived Giants lead. However, after an interception by Donovan Wilson, Prescott’s scramble set up Aubrey’s game-winning kick.

Chicago Bears 52-21 Detroit Lions

Jared Goff led the Detroit Lions to a 52-21 victory over the Chicago Bears, throwing for 334 yards and five touchdowns, including three to Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Bears struggled, turning the ball over twice in the first half, which contributed to a 28-14 deficit they couldn’t overcome. Caleb Williams of the Bears threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns to Rome Odunze, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap. The Lions were close to setting a franchise record for points scored in a game.

Denver Broncos 28-29 Indianapolis Colts

Spencer Shrader kicked a 45-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Indianapolis Colts a 29-28 victory over the Denver Broncos, marking their first 2-0 start since 2009. In a conservative final drive, Jonathan Taylor ran the ball seven times, setting up Shrader’s initial missed kick, which was aided by a penalty for leverage on Dondrea Tillman, allowing Shrader a closer attempt. Jones completed 23 of 34 passes for 316 yards and a touchdown, adding a one-yard rushing score. Taylor had 25 carries for 165 yards and caught a touchdown, achieving his 25th 100-yard game, breaking a tie for second in franchise history with Eric Dickerson.

Seattle Seahawks 31-17 Pittsburgh Steelers

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17, with George Holani scoring a touchdown by recovering a live ball in the end zone. After a 54-yard field goal by Jason Myers gave Seattle a three-point lead, a kickoff mishap allowed Holani to secure the touchdown. The Steelers struggled offensively during their home opener, with Sam Darnold throwing for 295 yards and two touchdowns despite two interceptions, while Kenneth Walker III added a 19-yard touchdown run that sealed the game for the Seahawks.

Los Angeles Rams 33-19 Tennessee Titans

Matthew Stafford passed for 298 yards and two touchdowns as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Tennessee Titans 33-19, marking rookie Cam Ward’s NFL home opener. Puka Nacua added a 45-yard rushing touchdown, while Davante Adams contributed with 106 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Rams (2-0) sacked Ward five times, with linebacker Byron Young achieving two sacks and forcing a fumble.

Cleveland Browns 17-41 Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson led the Baltimore Ravens to a 41-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns, throwing four touchdown passes. Despite Cleveland’s defense managing to limit Derrick Henry’s rushing yards, their offense struggled significantly. Joe Flacco, playing his first game in Baltimore as an opponent, completed 25 of 45 passes for 199 yards, a touchdown, an interception, and lost a fumble. Jackson connected for two touchdown passes with Devontez Walker, and also threw to DeAndre Hopkins and Tylan Wallace.

Buffalo Bills 30-10 New York Jets

Josh Allen overcame a bloody nose that sidelined him briefly, while James Cook rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Buffalo Bills to a 30-10 victory over the New York Jets. The Bills, who previously had a dramatic comeback win over Baltimore, controlled the game from the start, shutting down the Jets’ offense. Allen left the game in the first quarter after a hit but returned in the second quarter, during which Mitchell Trubisky stepped in and completed a pass before handing off to Ty Johnson.

Carolina Panthers 22-27 Arizona Cardinals

Josh Sweat’s strip-sack led to an early defensive touchdown for the Arizona Cardinals, who defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-22. Despite trailing 27-3 in the third quarter, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young threw three touchdown passes, narrowing the score to 27-22 with a one-yard pass to Hunter Renfrow. The Panthers successfully converted an onside kick but were ultimately stopped when Calais Campbell sacked Young on fourth down to secure the victory for Arizona.

San Francisco 49ers 26-21 New Orleans Saints

Mac Jones had an impressive performance, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns, leading the San Francisco 49ers to a 26-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Filling in for the injured Brock Purdy, Jones achieved his best game since Week One of the 2023 season. His touchdown passes were to Luke Farrell, Christian McCaffrey, and Jauan Jennings, with the latter extending the Niners’ lead in the fourth quarter. This marked Jones’ second career game with over 250 yards and three touchdowns.

Jacksonville Jaguars 27-31 Cincinnati Bengals

Jake Browning stepped in for the injured Joe Burrow, passing for 241 yards and scoring a crucial one-yard touchdown to lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Burrow sustained a toe injury in the first half and did not return, raising concerns for the Bengals’ quarterback. Cincinnati, now 2-0 for the first time since 2018, executed a 15-play drive late in the game, capped by Browning’s touchdown. Ja’Marr Chase had a standout performance with 14 receptions for 165 yards and scored his first touchdown of the season. Burrow left the locker room on crutches, and the Bengals are seeking second opinions on his injury, which may require surgery, potentially sidelining him for at least four games.

New England Patriots 33-27 Miami Dolphins

Drake Maye led the Patriots to a 33-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins, marking Mike Vrabel’s first win as New England’s coach. Maye threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another while completing 19 of 23 passes for 230 yards. The game saw Antonio Gibson return a kickoff for a 90-yard touchdown. The Dolphins briefly took the lead in the fourth quarter with a 74-yard punt return by Malik Washington, but Gibson’s kickoff return put the Patriots back in front. Linebacker Marte Mapu’s interception of Tua Tagovailoa helped secure the win, allowing Maye to set up a 53-yard field goal by Andy Borregales.
