Windsor John, the general secretary of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), provided clarity on the situation during a press conference held in Kuala Lumpur. He stated unequivocally that there has been no indication of Iran withdrawing from the competition, which is scheduled to begin in June and will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Mr. John emphasized the importance of the Iranian team as a valued member of the footballing community, expressing, “They are our member. We want them to play. As far as we know, Iran is playing.”
